Backhoe hydraulic problem?
i have a kelly 40 hp backhoe attachment mounted on a trailer with a gas driven pto pump, problem is that i just replaced the detent parts on the boom spool ( the original part broke) and it will only move an inch in either direction when i move the handle, it acts like the piston is leaking into both sides of the cylinder locking it up everything else works fine... im stumped
Answer:
I'd take the valve apart, and check the membrane inside, for ruptures before doing anything else. (The valve would be the part the handle is attached to, and should have at least 2 hoses running from it, one for each direction of movement - it directs the flow of fluid, and if the membrane ruptures... it tries to send fluid in both directions at once)
