Frequently Asked Questions...
What is the best ball bearing system you can have with a reel?
I just bought a new Quantum reel with 8 ball bearings. Is more better or is it less that's better. I always thought more cuz they're smoother and seem to reel in better. Maybe I'm crazy though. I'm young so I don't exactly know every thing about fishing and fishing equipment so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Answer:
BP is on the right track, (Thumbs).
Having numerous bearings "can" be the sign of a good smooth reel, BUT, if those bearings are poorly made then it defeats the purpose of the 14 bearings the reel may advertise.
In other words, I'd rather have 4 GOOD bearings than 10 "crappy" bearings!
Quantum bearings are usually pretty solid. You should be fine with your new reel.....
