YEAR 11 FAST SESSIONS

Start Time

• Fast (Focused Assisted Study Time) will begin Monday 22.5.06 and continue until Friday 23 rd June
• There will be no registration with tutors or a tutor period from Monday 22.5.06. Registration will take place in revision workshops.
• You do not have to be in uniform from Monday 22.5.06
• You can use the post 16 study area for private study.  

Revision Workshops

• The revision workshops have been introduced to provide you with focused and targeted revision before their exams.
• In the workshops you will revise core knowledge and exam techniques such as time management, writing a plan before answering a question, etc, these exam techniques can make a huge difference to your performance in an exam. 

For all sessions you will go to your normal classroom and if there are any room changes you will be notified.

Timetable

• Your timetable has been revised to meet the demands of the exam. This will allow for more effective and focused preparation.
• It will mean that you will receive quality revision time just before each exam.
• For some subjects this will be a double lesson or in some cases three periods.
• If you have had your final exam in a particular subject you no longer need to attend the revision session for that subject. You can either go to another revision session which may be on at the same time or use the post 16 study area for private study.

How to read the timetable

• The first column is simply the day and date.
• The second column informs you about what exams take place on which day.
• The third and fourth columns informs you when to follow your normal year 11 timetable and when revision sessions will take place. For example, on Monday 22.5.06 most year 11 students go to their normal year 11 lessons period 1-3, however students who take GCSE P.E. go to a revision session for that subject instead of their normal lessons.
• There will be times when all students attend a revision session e.g. Monday 22.5.06 period 4-5 for English. This session has been placed here because you have your English Literature exam the next day.
• The I.T. facilities are available on at certain times for on-line revision.

Attendance

• Attendance during this revision period isessential. You will receive targeted revision with input from specialist teachers, you cannot get this at home and non-attendance could affect your GCSE performance.

• For Health and Safety reasons you must only study in the designated areas.
