What is the Course Structure?The course is taught and assessed in three Units. Unit 1 : Design and Graphical Communication. This Unit will teach you about the design process, developing and presenting ideas and producing engineering drawings, using drawing equipment and Computer Aided Design software. Unit 2 : Engineered Products. You will make engineered products in the workshop using a wide range of machine and hand tools. You will use Computer Aided Manufacture to make products and learn how to check the quality of your work. All aspects of health and safety will be taught. Unit 3 : Application of Technology. You will learn how new technology has helped design and manufacture engineering products. You will learn about the benefits and implications new technology and its effect on the workforce, the community and the global and local environments.
